A famous bishop promotes a money giveaway in a video

You see this video on Facebook. It looks and sounds just like Bishop Akande, a preacher you watch every Sunday.

I am giving ₦1,000,000 to 500 faithful!

What would you do?

Pay the ₦10,000. It is the Bishop himself speaking

Not safe. Computers can now make a video of anyone saying anything. His face and voice don’t prove it is him.

Share it with family so they can benefit too

Not safe. Sharing spreads the scam to people you love. Check first, and only share warnings.

Don’t pay. Check the church’s official page, or ask at the church office

Safe choice. Correct. A real giveaway would be announced by the church itself, and it would never ask you to pay first.
